Happy quilting!
Island Four Patch
A package of Tonga Treats batik fabric strips buried in her fabric stash called “Island Punch” by Timeless Treasures inspired APQS Dealer Cindy Schellenberg to create this simple but striking pattern that definitely feels like it should be draped across a beach chair the tropics!
Daisy’s Garden
APQS Dealer Bonnie Botts combined smaller squares from the jelly roll into 16-patch blocks, reminiscent of the postage stamp quilts Grandma Daisy made. She added stars to commemorate her grandma’s life and influence on her quilting journey.
Easy Layer Cake
Laura Reardon and her team at APQS Boise-The Quilt Crossing created a twin-size quilt that goes together in just a couple of hours thanks to the convenience of a “layer cake” stack of 10-inch squares and easy sashing strips. Don’t have any “layer cake” stacks? No worries…dig out that fat quarter bundle you’ve been staring at for inspiration and get to slicing!
Woven Treasures
APQS dealer Heidi Kaisand of Hen & Chicks Studio created this pattern that goes together quickly and easily. No need to cut out dozens of rectangles and squares individually. Long strips are sewn together and then sub-cut into smaller units that are cleverly arranged to create the illusion that the fabric strips are woven together (using the assembly diagram included.)
Daffodil Punch
APQS Educator, Dawn Cavanaugh’s free quilt pattern uses jelly roll fabric and was inspired by the contrast between bright spring flowers and the winter-bare earth from which they sprout. Grab yourself a jelly roll and a couple yards of your favorite colors and make a spring garden quilt that you can enjoy any time of year.
T-shirt Quilt
APQS Dealer Elizabeth Persinger shares her T-shirt Quilt pattern. T-shirt quilts are relatively easy to put together – in fact, the hardest part for you may be getting the t-shirts from the intended recipient without giving away the gift itself. You might need a trusted accomplice to help you select shirts from their stash.
Forest Snowfall
APQS Dealer Myrna Ficken found inspiration for this pattern in the boughs of evergreen trees dusted with snow. This is a great stash-busting project if you’ve got a bin of green fabrics tucked away. Using fabrics with different values adds richness and depth to the evergreen trees.
Star-Crossed Table Runner
A crisscrossed table cover! Unlike traditional table runners, APQS Educator Dawn Cavanaugh designed this table cover with a center block that isn’t the focal point. Instead, it’s designed to frame out any centerpiece. Add a bouquet of flowers, a bowl of fruit, or whatever you like.
Stripped Ease
Do you have a fabric jelly roll that you love, but can’t find a pattern that suits it? APQS dealer Barb Mayfield of APQS Northwest and The Mind’s Eye came up with a pattern that is sure to get you excited about finally using that jelly roll with her pattern, “Stripped Ease.”
A Whole Lotta Love
Don’t be surprised if you start humming “What the world needs now, is love—sweet love!” when you see the pattern that APQS Dealer JulieAnn Chavez has shared. With all the turmoil in the world today, it’s the perfect project to send a heartfelt message to someone you love.
