Amy Anderson, our head service technician, leads you through the very basics of machine maintenance, all the way through more in-depth service such as timing and motor brushes. Other topics include tension issues, thread and needles, wheel adjustments, hook maintenance and more. Learn how to keep your quilting machine running like new! These APQS classes are taught by the very people who hand-assembled your quilting machine, right at the factory in Carroll, Iowa. These classes fill quickly--call early to register!

This 6-hour follow-up class to the beginner class at APQS in Des Moines takes you beyond pantographs and simple overall designs and pushes you to become more comfortable with your freehand quilting skills. You'll have classroom time as well as hands-on machine time during the day. Class begins at 9:30 a.m.; Class fee is $200.

With the beginner class offered at APQS, our goal is to teach you the skills you'll need to accomplish a typical quilting project on your new longarm machine. Whether you intend to start a business or just want to get your quilts done faster, you'll learn valuable techniques to accomplish your projects creatively and efficiently. This class is mostly "demonstration" so we can squeeze in as much information as possible.
